Keeping Vulnerable Children Learning

Education can protect a child's future, but poverty often turns ordinary school requirements into barriers. Wings For The Nations intends to support vulnerable children within the Rescue Home and surrounding communities so that financial hardship does not unnecessarily interrupt learning.

Programme target

The programme aims to reach approximately 300 vulnerable children through education, school-material and child- support interventions, subject to funding and eligibility assessment.

Support may include

  • School fees or approved education contributions
  • School uniforms and shoes
  • School bags
  • Exercise books and textbooks
  • Pens, pencils and stationery
  • Examination-related requirements where approved
  • School feeding support
  • Basic personal-care materials
  • Mentorship and psychosocial support
  • Learning support through the planned Children's Resource Centre

School feeding

Hunger can undermine attendance, concentration and academic performance. Where resources and partnerships permit, Wings For The Nations may support school feeding initiatives that help vulnerable learners remain engaged in education. Support may include porridge, meals or other appropriate food assistance delivered through schools, community programmes or the Rescue Centre, depending on local arrangements.

Responsible sponsorship

Child sponsorship should protect privacy and avoid creating direct, unsupervised donor-child relationships. Public communication should focus on programme impact rather than exposing a child's trauma, full identity or private history.
